Hazeltine awarded scholarship to Auburn
Laurie Hazeltine, the 2002 valedictorian of Bob Jones High School, has been awarded a four-year, full-tuition and fees academic scholarship to Auburn University. She also was awarded a $1,000 chemical engineering department scholarship and is the recipient of the Huntsville Elks Lodge $1,000 scholarship. Hazeltine chose Auburn over scholarship offers from Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Tulane, Washington of St. Louis and Clemson Universities. She has been accepted into the honors program and plans to study chemical engineering at Auburn. She is the daughter of Joe and Ginny Hazeltine.
USM announces spring dean's list
Naomi Elizabeth Kamhieh of Madison has been named to the dean's list at The University of Southern Mississippi. Dean's list scholars are those with at least a 3.25 grade-point average but less than a 4.0.
Betsayad graduates from UM
Wilbert V. Betsayad of Madison has received a bachelor of arts degree from The University of Mississippi. He is one of 35 students from Alabama and among 1,802 students who have graduated this semester.
Faught named to Harding University dean's list
Natalie S. Faught of Madison has been named to the dean's list at Harding University during the recent spring semester. Faught, a junior majoring in social work, attended Madison Academy before entering Harding. To be eligible, a student must be carrying 12 or more hours and have an average scholarship level of 3.65 minimum.
