Record unveils free weekly publication

Madison Publications, LLC, parent company of the Madison County Record, unveiled a new, free weekly publication — The Madison Record — during a gathering at Main Street Cafe July 22.

The Madison Record will debut Aug. 28, just in time for high school football, and will publish each Saturday.

The free publication will be available at more than 150 locations throughout the city.

The Madison Record will be a hyper-local publication, covering anything and everything Madison.

While the pages of the Madison County Record feature happenings throughout the county, The Madison Record will focus solely on the city of Madison, its schools, churches, parks and recreation, sports, police, fire, records, obituaries, events and more.

“This new publication will allow us to get even more Madison news in print and online, while also providing business owners and residents a highly-circulated outlet to market their goods and services,” said Erica Slone, Madison Publications president and publisher.

In addition to the free weekly print product, The Madison Record will also have a new website updated in real time daily and a daily e-mail component to keep residents informed of what’s going on in their backyard.

“This area has grown so much in the past decade, and this will allow us to serve our readers in a more comprehensive and efficient way,” Slone said.
