Bob Jones students will perform in county choir

Nine BJHS chorus students have been selected to participate in Madison County Honor Choir hosted by the Madison County Choral Directors’ Association.

The concert will take place Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Randolph School Fine Arts Building in Huntsville.

More than 120 students from 13 Madison County choirs will participate.

This concert is the seventh annual such program. Beginning in 2003, the MCCDA has given the opportunity to Madison County choral students in public schools (outside Huntsville) and private schools to learn and perform exciting, challenging music under the direction of guest conductors who have excelled in the field of choral conducting.

The guest conductors for the two honor choirs – all-female and mixed choruses – are Damion Womack, director of choral activities for Montgomery Academy and past president of the Alabama Vocal Association and Jason Max Ferdinand, director of choral activities for Oakwood University and the director of the famed Aeolians.

The fine arts building is located at 4915 Garth Road in Huntsville. For more information, contact Philip Williams, association president at 256-679-6819.
