Broadway Theater League announces 2013 lineup

The Huntsville Broadway Theater League has announced its new season.

Chicago will play April 5-7.

The 13th season will feature West Side Story, Blue Man Group, Chicago, The Addams Family, An Evening with Garrison Keillor and Elvis Lives. The League will also feature two free student outreach shows: The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales and Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild.

Announced at a luncheon Wednesday by Executive Director Andrew Willmon?, the new season will start Jan 4.

“I love every single one of these shows,” Willmon said. “Blue Man Group is going to bring in anybody and everybody. It’s such a unique and different show. Spamalot, one of the funniest shows I’ve ever seen in my life. Chicago, I think I know every song in that show.”

Willmon said one of the League’s newest initiatives is to provide admit students for free.

“Education is equally as important as entertainment and this is our way of reaching out is through the school systems,” he said. “The Stinky Cheese Man and Jack Hannah are 100 percent free to any student who wants to come.”

Schools interested in participating should call the BTL to reserve a spot.
