Green Bean Drop delayed to Aug. 25

The Green Bean Drop scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed to Aug. 25.

Due to inclement weather, the grower in Tennessee cannot harvest the beans today.

“I apologize for any inconvenience and hope that you can still participate next Saturday, Aug. 25,” Mary Lynn Botts. She works as North Alabama gleaning coordinator for Society of St. Andrew, the project’s sponsor.

On Aug. 25, 20,000 pounds of green beans will be delivered Asbury United Methodist Church, 980 Hughes Road in Madison. Volunteers will work from 8 a.m. to noon. Non-profit agencies will pick up their allotment of green beans from 10 a.m. to noon.
