Funeral set for Madison’s first fire chief
Madison’s first fire chief passed away Sunday.
Charles Wallace, 75, was the first full-time paid firefighter in Madison. He retired in 1999, after serving for 35 years, 30 of which were as chief.
His funeral will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Madison Church of Christ on Hughes Road. Visitation is Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the church.
The city will fly the flags at half-staff on Wednesday in honor of Wallace.
