Loggins family taking missionary work to Honduras

The Loggins family is practicing what they preach and applying what they know as missionaries.

Gary and Suzanne Loggins are preparing to move to Honduras. Their work is affiliated with Christian Social Ministry of the Church of God.

For this ministry’s medical clinics, the Loggins will work to provide diagnostic medical equipment and training throughout Honduras. As a registered diagnostic sonographer, Suzanne will assist with ultrasound, X-ray and mammography. Using his sales experience, Gary is locating donors for all categories of diagnostic medical equipment.

The Loggins’ children, Mackenzie and Garrett, will join them in the field.

“Our family has prayed about a move to Austin, Texas and discussed it with leadership of the Christian Social Ministry and Asbury United Methodist Church,” Gary said about the first phase of their Honduran ministry.

In December, Suzanne relocated to Austin and Gary, Mackenzie and Garrett now have joined her. “It is time to get the family back under one roof,” Gary said. “We have spent so much time apart since Suzanne took the ultrasound traveling jobs.”

In early December, Garrett enrolled in an Austin school. “God has already worked out the details. It turns out that the district Suzanne just moved to has an excellent system for dyslexic students,” Gary said.

Concerning dyslexia, Gary and Suzanne Loggins are grateful for help from Carol Hale in tutoring Garrett. “Carol has worked continuously to help Garrett after he was diagnosed with severe dyslexia,” Gary said. “As a tutor, she had only worked with a few dyslexic students before Garrett.

“Carol is now an expert and has completed a semester’s worth of work in dyslexic studies,” Gary said. “Without a doubt, (Carol’s tutoring) was the best possible schooling that money could buy for Garrett. As far as we can tell, Garrett has gained almost three grade levels in just one year.”

“The Loggins family will continue to seek the face of God and admire the work He does in our lives,” Gary said.
