ARDMORE – Ardmore Public Library has announced special programs for this summer.

On June 19, the library will host “Charles Berry’s Ardmore Memories in Photo.” On July 24, retired postmaster R.C. Powers will present “Ardmore Post Office — 100 Years.”

“Please come out and support these speakers,” librarian spokesperson Verlin Collins said.

“This summer, the library will support the area’s children in reading with a four-week Summer Reading Program for 11-year-olds and younger,” Collins said. The reading program will be held on Wednesdays on June 18 and 25 and July 2 and July 9 at 10 a.m.

“The 12- to 16-years-olds will have an opportunity to their own program with Leslie Donnelly on June 27 and July 11 from 1 to 3 p.m.,” he said.

Jan Mitchell will present a scrapbooking session on July 3 at 1 p.m. Participants should bring their own binder or notebook, non-PDC pages and about a dozen photographs.

The library will provide other materials, like scissors and stickers. “Jan will also be talking about the best way to set up a photo when taking it,” Collin said. The session is free.
