MADISON – A book drive by a Madison business has resulted in 211 more books for library shelves at West Madison Elementary School.

During their “For the Love of Reading” drive, Laura Samples and Greg and Kim Shaw at Southern Scape collected the books from residents around Valentine’s Day to symbolize a love for reading. Samples and the Shaws are alumni of Bob Jones High School.

“We were so excited to get the collection of books from Laura Samples. These books will greatly help our students continue their love for reading,” West Madison Principal Dr. Daphne Jah said.

“We are grateful that they thought of the students of West Madison and appreciate the community support,” West Madison Library Media Specialist Emily B. Wolfe said.

While talking to Samples, Jah learned that Samples is a former student of West Madison. “So it made the donation of books even more special. We would like to thank Mrs. Samples for the donation to our library. Our students truly appreciate the gift of reading,” Jah said.
