MADISON – Morningside of Madison assisted living and retirement community treated Madison’s first responders to a waffle breakfast on July 22.

“We held this breakfast in appreciation for all that our first responders do for our city that makes it a safer and better place for our citizens,” Morningside Executive Director Karen Barnett.

“We delivered invitation flyers to the fire department, police department and HEMSI,” Barnett said. From the fire department alone, 20 employees enjoyed the free breakfast.

“We just let them know how much we appreciate everything that they do for the Madison community, as well as our assisted-living community, Morningside of Madison,” Barnett said.

Loaded with watermelon and other fruit, one table had a tropical palm tree, fashioned from stacked pineapples as the trunk and Boston fern fronds for the top leaves.

“Because we are an assisted-living community and care for seniors, we often call on first responders for their services,” she said. “They are here literally within minutes, and the care they give is outstanding.”

Morningside’s address is 49 Hughes Road. For information, call 256-464-9090 or visit Facebook/Morningside of Madison or fivestarseniorliving.com/communities/al/madison/morningside-of-madison.
