MADISON – Hope Lancaster has two events that tie for her favorite memory in sports.
“It’s a tie between making my first basket in basketball and shooting my first bulls-eye in archery,” Hope said.
Hope’s experience in basketball comes from playing guard with Upward Sports. Also with that organization, she has participated as center and running back in football and the cheerleading squad.
She also likes to play soccer and volleyball, take classes in gymnastics, go horseback riding and hit the pool for swimming. From all those sports, basketball is Hope’s favorite because “it’s fun. Everyone gets a chance to play and you work as a team.”
At Columbia Elementary School, Hope is a member of the X-Rings Archery Team, along with Drama Club and Science Olympiad. Hope, who is a fifth-grader, is a Girl Scout.
Hope’s parents are Michael and Tamara Lancaster. Hope’s siblings are Colten and Addisen, who are in third grade, and Ryan, who is a first-grader. The Lancaster family moved to Madison in 2014.
