MADISON – The Air Force JROTC unit at Bob Jones High School will conduct a flag retirement ceremony after school on Feb. 27.

“As a service to our community, we invite anyone that has a United State flag needing to be retired to drop off the flag at the Bob Jones front desk during school hours,” retired Lt. Col. Randy S. Herd, United States Air Force, said. Herd is senior aerospace science instructor at Bob Jones.

A U.S. flag should be retired if it is torn, tattered, faded or otherwise no longer serviceable. “We will make sure it is properly honored,” Herd said.

Bob Jones’ address is 650 Hughes Road. For more information, call 256-772-2547.
