Kids to Love plans Coco for Kids runs on Nov. 12

MADISON — The Kids to Love Foundation will hold the third annual Coco for Kids runs on Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. in Cummings Research Park.

“Help us celebrate November as National Adoption Awareness Month by joining us at Coco for Kids,” Meredith Payne said. Payne serves as Development Director for Kids to Love Foundation.

Event proceeds will benefit children who are living in foster care.

The USA Track & Field organization has certified both the 10K and 5K routes. Individuals of all ages can enter a one-mile fun run.

Participants will assemble at Parsons Corporation at 401 Diamond Drive NW in Huntsville.

“This fun-filled event will include a bounce house for the kids and delicious chocolate provided by Sallie’s Whistle Stop Sweet Shop in Madison. Yes, you heard that right … I said CHOCOLATE,” Payne said. “Running is hard, but chocolate makes it much easier.”

Participants can pick up race packets on Nov. 10 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Fleet Feet, 2722 Carl T Jones Drive, Suite 2B in Huntsville. Organizers will present awards in the 10K and 5K races for numerous categories. Overall winners will not be eligible for age group awards.

In conjunction with Coco for Kids, Kids to Love is conducting a contest for two orchestra-level tickets to Jennifer Nettles Christmas show on Dec. 14 at the Von Braun Center. Contestants must guess the number of semisweet chocolate morsels in five-pound pile. To enter, visit Facebook/Kids to Love Foundation.

Contest organizers will announce the winner on Nov. 10 during packet pickup.

Sponsors to-date include Colsa Corporation and Crestwood Medical Center – Silver; Bryant Bank and Redstone Federal Credit Union – Bronze; and Fleet Feet Sports, Purity and Whistle Stop Sweet Shop – In-Kind Sponsors.
