MADISON – Amy Haddock, a senior at James Clemens High School, has signed to play lacrosse with the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Haddock is a native Madisonian. She has been a member of the Girls Lacrosse Team at James Clemens since she was in eighth grade. For four years, she has played as a varsity starter.

In addition, Haddock has served as a captain of Jets lacrosse. She was selected as 2016 Alabama/Mississippi All-State and was a member of the Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Lacrosse Team in 2016.

For the Jets club lacrosse team, Haddock has 38 goals, 12 assists, 29 groundballs, 30 draw controls and has caused 27 turnovers.

At James Clemens, Haddock has participated in Chemistry Club; Family, Career and Community Leaders of America or FCCLA; Society of Women Engineers; and yearbook staff. She is an honor roll student.

Haddock currently has been assigned to play attack position at UAH.

Haddock started her lacrosse career seven years ago with Huntsville Lacrosse Association. At first, she played in midfield but she also has played attack, defense and center for the Jets girls team.

Hernando Gauto and Kevin Hutchinson coached Haddock at James Clemens. Haddock’s athletic resume includes various travel lacrosse teams, including Arsenal, Birmingham Lacrosse United and Alabama Blast.

While attending UAH, Haddock plans to major in nursing. Her parents are Stacey and Angie Haddock.

Amy will carry on a family legacy established by her two sisters by learning a high school sport and continuing that pursuit into the collegiate world. Amy’s sister Stephanie was a James Clemens competition cheerleader and performs with the University of Alabama at Birmingham Cheer Team. Her sister Mary Elizabeth was a member of James Clemens girls lacrosse team and is currently serving as a goalie on the UAH Women’s Lacrosse Team.
