Jeong places first in World Taekwondo Championship

SEOUL, KOREA – Representing the United States, Yerim Jeong, a junior at Bob Jones High School, won first place in her division at the 2017 World Taekwondo Championship of the Ambassador’s Cup in Seoul, Korea.

Jeong aced the individual poomsae (form) for the female Junior Division (under 20) at the championship that convened in Seoul during the first week of December.

This year, 95 municipalities from 30 different countries performed taekwondo routines in their attempt to qualify for the championship. The most outstanding performances were invited to compete in the final matches at Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters) in Korea.
