Niche names all MCS elementaries in Top 25 for Alabama

MADISON – In the latest honor for Madison City Schools, each of the elementary schools stole the spotlight with a place in Niche’s “2018 Best Public Elementary Schools in Alabama.”

The Niche firm produces web-based analysis of statistics and reviews and recently ranked the top 25 elementary schools in the state of Alabama.

Horizon Elementary School rated highest among Madison campuses as no. 7 in Niche’s Top 25. The rankings for other Madison elementary schools in the list were Rainbow, ninth place; Madison elementary, tenth; Columbia, eleventh; Heritage, 16th; Mill Creek, 20th; and West Madison, 22nd.

The 2018 Best Public Elementary Schools ranking is based on several factors: academics grade that accounted for 50 percent of the ranking’s weight; teachers grade for 20 percent; district overall Niche grade that considers academics and student life, 15 percent; culture and diversity grade, 10 percent; and parent/student surveys on overall experience, 5 percent.
