Nominate now for Bob Jones Hall of Fame

MADISON – Do you know someone who has invested lots of ‘sweat equity’ to help students at Bob Jones High School? Or, a Bob Jones graduate who has succeeded in reaching milestones to a successful career?

To recognize these individuals, nominations are open for 2018 Hall of Fame at Bob Jones.

“The Bob Jones High School Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding alumni who have maintained a high standard of excellence and made a significant contribution in their fields of endeavor,” Bob Jones Assistant Principal Amy Thaxton said. People who are not alumni but have significantly contributed to Bob Jones in leadership and service also are eligible.

“These individuals serve as role models for current and future Bob Jones students,” Thaxton said.

To access the nomination form, visit bjhs.madisoncity.k12.al.us and click “Hall of Fame Nomination Information 2018” near the center of the page.

To qualify, alumni candidates must have graduated from Bob Jones at least 10 years ago and had significant accomplishments and contributions while a student at Bob Jones through scholarship, service, leadership and/or athletics.

To qualify, service candidates must have made a significant contribution to Bob Jones. Current employees or anyone affiliated with the school are not eligible.

Former employees are eligible who have worked for the school for 10 or more years, or who are retired from Bob Jones, deceased or has not worked for the school in the last 10 years.

Deadline for nominations is Aug. 31. Return completed nomination application, the nominee’s resume and a letter or recommendation (200 words maximum) to Thaxton at athaxton@madisoncity.k12.al.us. 

Hall of Fame inductees will serve as Grand Marshals at the Bob Jones Homecoming Parade on Sept. 27 and be treated to a reception afterwards. The inductees also will be honored at halftime during the homecoming game on Sept. 28 at Madison City Schools Stadium.
