Madison County public forum to be held Feb. 25

HUNTSVILLE — The Madison County State Legislative Delegation announced that they will be holding their annual public forum Feb. 25 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Huntsville City Council Chambers at the Huntsville municipal building.

The forum will serve as a valuable opportunity for citizens to meet their state senators and representatives. The event will also allow citizens to express their views on a variety of local and state issues that affect them.

Those who wish to speak at the forum must sign up on an official sign-up sheet, which will be available at the chambers 30 minutes prior to the forum. Speakers will each have three minutes to express their thoughts and opinions.

Legislators recommend that speakers bring printed material to hand out to the delegation.

The following state senators serve Madison County and are listed by district: Tim Melson, 1; Tom Butler, 2; Arthur Orr, 3; Sam Givhan, 7; Steve Livingston, 8; and Clay Scofield, 9.

The following state representatives serve Madison County and are listed by district: Andy Whitt, 6; Mike Ball, 10; Laura Hall, 19; Howard Sanderford, 20; Rex Reynolds, 21; Ritchie Whorton, 22; Speaker of the House Mac McCutcheon, 25; and House Minority Leader Anthony Daniels, 53.

District 19 Rep. Laura Hall said on her Facebook page that she is asking citizens for their input on her issues survey.
