Area fireworks displays to light the sky in celebration of the 4th of July

TENNESSEE VALLEY – There will be several great ways to celebrate the 4th of July this week in the Tennessee Valley. Here are a few of the top festivals and fireworks displays planned for our area:

Stars and Stripes Forever July 4th Celebration

From: 2-9:30 p.m.

Dublin Memorial Park

8324 Old Madison Pike

The annual Stars and Stripes Forever July 4th Celebration will be held at Dublin Park starting at 2 p.m. and lasting through a large fireworks display at 9 p.m.

This year’s festivities will include a little bit of everything. There will be inflatables for the kids, game and activities for the whole family, live entertainment, exhibits, demonstrations, a 3-on-3 soccer tournament, a cornhole tournament, a lipsync battle, and, of course, plenty of great food choices.

Rocking the park will be OBB (Oswald Brothers Band).

Zach Oswald, Jacob Oswald, and Nich Oswald comprise OBB, the Atlanta-based pop trio. They’ve performed hundreds of shows to a combined audience of over 3 million, and their song “Mona Lisa” was featured in a Google Chromebook National Ad Campaign and an episode of “Dude Perfect”.

Parking for the event will be at Bob Jones High School with shuttle services provided by the City of Madison.

Shuttle services will begin running at 1:45 p.m. with the last pick up at 8:45 p.m. Following the event, the shuttles will take you back to Bob Jones High School.

Handicap parking only will be allowed at Dublin Park.

July 4th Celebration at U.S. Space & Rocket Center

9 a.m.-5 p.m., fireworks display at 9 p.m.

U.S. Space & Rocket Center

One Tranquility Base

www.rocketcenter.com/fireworks

The U.S. Space and Rocket Center is planning their largest fireworks display ever at 9 p.m. There will be plenty to do all day leading up to the big show.

People can enjoy special, family-friendly patriotic activities during regular museum hours, 9 am to 5 pm. For the safety of guests, the large fireworks display requires the closing of the parking lot at 5 p.m. in front of the Davidson Center for Space Exploration, and very limited parking is available in the main lot. Visitors are encouraged to view the breathtaking, patriotic show from other areas in the vicinity of the Rocket Center.

Village Of Providence 4th of July Fireworks & Celebration

Concert 7:30 p.m., Fireworks 9:30 p.m.

Village of Providence

445 Providence Main Street

Come out and enjoy the Village’s biggest Signature Series Event. JedEye will be performing a concert at 6:30 pm. Come out early and grab a good spot. Get some great food at one of our area restaurants and celebrate the 4th of July.  Please no outside food or drink.

Spirit of America Festival

10 a.m.-9:30 p.m.

Pointe Mallard Park, Decatur

Now in its 53rd year, the Spirit of America Festival offers star-spangled fun, food, craft vendors, a bike parade and a spectacular firework show in honor of Independence Day.

The free Independence Day celebration kicks off on July 4th at 10 a.m. with the Children’s Bike Parade where patriotic decorated bikes, tricycles, wagons and strollers make their way from the TC Almon Center to the Expo Pavilion in Point Mallard Park. Registration for the parade is free and is required beginning at 9 a.m. at TC Almon.

The Spirit of America Field will open to guests at 3 p.m. so that families can pick out a prime viewing location to enjoy the fireworks show set for later in the evening. Food and craft vendors will be there so attendees may shop for unique items and indulge on lemonade, shaved ice, funnel cakes, pizza, hamburgers or hotdogs.

Beginning at 9 p.m., the night sky will be illuminated with a spectacular fireworks display. The fireworks display will be choreographed to music simulcast by WDRM, and spectators outside of Point Mallard Park are encouraged to tune in to 102.1 FM to enjoy.
