Trash Pandas Set 2020 Season Schedule- 70 Home Games

MADISON- The Rocket City Trash Pandas have released its schedule for the inaugural season of minor league baseball returning to North Alabama. The Southern League team will host its home opener Wednesday, April 15 at 6:35 p.m. when the Trash Pandas host the Mississippi Braves, the affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.

The Trash Pandas will officially open the 2020 season on the road April 9 in Birmingham versus the Barons in the first of a five-game series to kick off the schedule of the Double-A team.

The inaugural season schedule for the Trash Pandas will feature 70 home games concluding Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7. A full promotional schedule will be announced in early 2020, including fireworks shows and giveaways on every home stand.

“After so many fantastic events leading to actual baseball it is amazing to think we’ll be playing ball in just over eight months,” said Ralph Nelson, Trash Pandas CEO. “I’ve said it repeatedly- no community has ever embraced a team like North Alabama has the Trash Pandas. We cannot wait to show our fans what we have planned for them at the ballpark.”

There has been speculation the Trash Pandas attempting to secure an exhibition game visit by its parent team the Los Angeles Angels. To accommodate that possibility, the Trash Pandas’ 2020 schedule has open dates on April 14, May 5, May 26, June 16, July 15, July 20, Aug. 11, Aug. 17 and Sept. 2.

The Trash Pandas’ roster will be completed after the Angels hold their 2020 spring training. The Los Angeles Angels train at Tempe Diablo Stadium, one of the more historic spring training facilities in the Cactus League.

More information regarding the team, season and individual game tickets are available at www.trashpandasbaseball.com.
