N2HOOPS Basketball Tournament Set For Nov. 25-27

MADISON- The 2019 edition of the Bob Jones hosted N2HOOPS Boys Basketball Tournament is set for Nov. 25-27. Sixteen teams representing both states of Alabama and Tennessee will hit the two hardwood courts at Bob Jones for three-days of superb high school basketball with some of the top teams and elite players in the immediate area.

“This will not be an easy field as we have several Div. 1 prospects along with some players who are considered under the radar, which should make for a must-see tournament,” said Taylor Shields, tournament co-director.

Among those hot shot players expected to be showcased in the annual tournament are Damarcus Beckwith with tournament defending champion Florence High. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound senior for the Falcons is a highly sought after football player where he is a four-star recruit at quarterback and receiver. He also runs track for the Class 7A Falcons. He’s received offers from most schools in the Southeastern Conference, as well as, other top programs around the country.

Bob Jones has two seniors who have gained a lot of attention from college recruiters. Jadan Coleman (6-4, Sr.) has verbally committed to Tulane while Jalen Myers (6-8, Sr.) has offers from Georgetown, Troy, Florida and St. John’s.

The nearby Sparkman Senators have sophomore sensation Tyrese Elliott (6-2) who has already drawn the attention of numerous schools and has received offers from Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Clemson and Iowa.

Additional players who will make waves at the N2HOOPS Tournament include Austin Harvell- East Limestone (Sr.), RayQuan Taylor- Carver-Montgomery (6-8, Jr., committed to UNA), T.I. Scruggs- Hazel Green (6-5, So.), Taye Fields- Lee (6-5, Jr.), Kaleb Brown- Lee (6-6, Jr.), Tony Toney- Jemison (6-1, Sr.) and Calvin Burns- Ramsay (6-0, Jr.).

“This great lineup of players proves you must be ready to compete and play hard to succeed in this tournament,” added Shields.

Games begins at 2:15 p.m. on Monday, the 25th, with all games being held in the main gymnasium the first day of play. The second day will include games in both gymnasiums featuring both winner and loser brackets. The semi-finals, third place consolation game and championship contest will be played on Wednesday, the 27th, in the main gymnasium.

Tickets are $6. Sideline VIP seats are available for $21 per day.

Teams competing are Bob Jones, Clarke County, Hazel Green, Ramsay, Lee-Huntsville, Eufaula, Austin, Blackman, James Clemens, Sumter Central, East Limestone, Sparkman, Carver-Montgomery, Jemison, Florence and Mitchell.
