Biden administration nominates Kim Lewis to TVA Board of Directors

MADISON – The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden has nominated Kimberly ‘Kim’ Caudle Lewis to serve on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Valley Authority or TVA.

President Biden also nominated nine other individuals across the country to serve on key boards and commissions, according to the April 20 announcement.

Lewis is the Chief Executive Officer of PROJECTXYZ Inc., a business that provides services and products in the areas of engineering, logistics, technical services, manufacturing and international foreign military sales. She leads a workforce that supports federal and commercial customers across several diverse subsidiaries and at locations across the United States and around the world.

Lewis succeeded in previous career roles and studies in healthcare and information technology to set the foundation for starting PROJECTXYZ. With her company, she previously was involved in management of large-scale IT implementations and projects for large healthcare companies.

“At PROJECTXYZ, we believe our biggest differentiators are our people, our willingness to partner with our customers and our philosophy of putting profit back into the company. All of these aspects allow us to invest in the success of our employees, our customers and our business,” Lewis told “Madison Living” magazine.

Her 25-year career spans business operations and management, technology, and federal government contracting.

A lifelong resident of Madison County, Lewis is the first Black female elected as Board Chair of Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce. She focused on workforce development, supporting current businesses in the area and providing training and resources to small business to sustain that sector’s growth and continue to diversify the workforce.

Most recently, she has become the first minority owner of the only locally owned broadcast television station in North Alabama, WTZT-TV.

In addition, Lewis has served on boards for Calhoun Community College Foundation, Cummings Research Park, Huntsville Hospital Foundation, Health Establishments at Local Schools or HEALS, Huntsville Botanical Garden and National Children’s Advocacy Center. She earned a degree in computer information systems at Calhoun Community College.

Her husband, Larry Lewis Jr., serves as president of PROJECTXYZ, having joined the company in 2007. The couple has two daughters: Sandi Dewberry, 25, who lives in Nashville, and Lela Lewis, 9, a fourth-grader at Providence Elementary School.

Other TVA nominees are Beth Geer of Brentwood, Tenn., Robert Klein of Chattanooga, Tenn., Michelle Moore of Richmond, Va., Lori Peek of Boulder, Colo. and Deirdre Hamilton, who lives in Michigan.
