Try Spring Break camp at Fantasy Playhouse or botanical garden

MADISON – Spring Break 2024 for Madison City Schools students is set for March 11-15. Parents can treat their children to Spring Break Camp with Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theatre or Huntsville Botanical Garden.

For three- and four-year-olds, Fantasy Playhouse’s “Wonderful World of Disney Spring Break Camp” will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.; camp fee is $85. (The youngsters must be potty-trained.)

For five- through 18-year-olds, the full-day camp will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; camp fee is $225.

This camp’s adventures range from Jedi battles to royal adventures with princesses. Spring Break Camp will present the perfect chance for children to dive into the arts and try new skills, all while building confidence and making friends, according to a spokesperson.

Campers will explore the “Wonderful World of Disney” with the fundamentals of acting, singing, movement and storytelling. Fantasy Playhouse’s Spring Camp will combine elements of music and theatre fundamentals by using the scores and stories from favorite Disney titles.

To highlight their experiences during Spring Break Camp, students will end the week with an informal ‘class share’ for their families.

At Huntsville Botanical Garden, the “Budding Gardeners Spring Break STEM Camp” will immerse young explorers in the magic of nature. This event is not just a camp . . . it’s a journey of discovery and adventure for curious minds.

Parents can allow their children to cultivate a love for learning and to deepen their appreciation for the natural world through the camp’s engaging activities.

The garden’s camp programs are immersive experiences designed to foster a child’s connection to the natural world. Through hands-on, engaging STEM activities, certified instructors will guide campers through natural exploration and the role that all people play with the environment.

Campers will participate in various outdoor projects and play activities that inspire curiosity and creativity. The garden’s staff invites youth to join them for “a week of fun, friendship and unforgettable experiences — because learning has never been so exciting.”

Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Extended care is available in the morning for $50/week, afternoon for $50/week or both times for $100/week. Extended care hours during mornings are 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. and during the afternoon from 4 to 5 p.m.

The camp for six- through eight-year-olds is full. However, a wait list is available by emailing education@hsvbg.org.

Camp fee is $260 for members and $400 for families who aren’t members.
