James Clemens long snapper selected for Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game

MADISON – The No. 1 rated long snapper in Alabama has received an additional honor. Tim Coleman, senior center and long snapper for the James Clemens Jets, has been selected as part of the roster of players to represent Alabama in the 2024 edition of the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game scheduled for Dec. 14 in Mobile.

“This means a lot especially being chosen as a long snapper as we mostly go un-noticed until we make a mistake,” said Coleman. “This selection shows my hard work has paid off and that I’m getting noticed for my efforts.”

Besides his top ranking in his home state, Coleman is ranked the No. 24 long snapper in the country, plus he has been selected to play in the annual Blue-Grey All-American Bowl to be played in the recent hurricane battered city of Tampa Fla. in January. He will play for the Grey team in the contest to be held in Raymond James Stadium.

“I’ll travel to Mobile and be there for a total of five days including practices for the game,” said Coleman. “I’m the only long snapper on the team, which means I’ll take every snap on punts, field goals and PATs.”

The 5-foot-11, 225-pound Coleman is the only player from James Clemens chosen for the contest and eighth in the school’s history to make their way to the battle between the two neighboring states.

“It’s an honor as I needed some gratification for all my hard work,” added Coleman. “I’ve been a part of many special games and camps for long-snapping, but this game is the best of the best and it’s gonna show many coaches of colleges that I’m the guy they need on their team.”

Coleman has had his hands full and his phone exploding with in-coming calls from schools looking to possibly gain his talents beginning next season. He has clearly stated, currently Troy is tops on his list with USA in the mix and now Oklahoma has jumped into the recruiting scene to be among his top three choices.

Coleman looks to study business or engineering and will close out his senior year at James Clemens with a 4.0 grade point average.
