MTM announces fifth grant fund cycle gift of $150,000 at Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville event

MADISON — Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM) announced grants totaling $150,000 given to over 20 organizations at yesterday’s Giving Tuesday celebration at Torch Technologies’ Freedom Center, hosted by the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville. This is the fifth grant cycle for Mazda Toyota Manufacturing in three years, and brings their grant awards’ total to over $750,000.

“We love the chance to engage with the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville and our North Alabama nonprofit partners on Giving Tuesday,” said MTM Vice President of Administration, Rhonda Gilyard. “We are committed to continuing to invest in our community, because we know that our community certainly invests in us.”

The MTM Grant Fund provides support for nonprofits and other organizations through three areas of focus: Education, Quality of Life, and Economic Impact. These organizations must serve populations within Madison, Limestone, and Morgan counties. Grant applicants can apply through the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville’s portal, or visit Our Grant Fund – Mazda Toyota Manufacturing Careers for more information.

“Even though our company name, Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, implies a global impact imparted by our parent companies – we are actually a one-of-a-kind joint venture located only in North Alabama,” explained Jessica Luther, External Affairs Specialist at MTM. “In that sense, we are a true hometown company and we want to give and engage with our community as such.”

MTM is supporting the Academy for Learning and Character Development, the American Red Cross, the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama, Downtown Rescue Mission, Free 2 Teach Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of the River Valley, LifeSource, Inc., Limestone County Commission’s Council on Aging, National Children’s Advocacy Center, National Coalition 100 Black Women, Inc – Greater Huntsville Area Chapter, New Futures, Inc., SAM Foundation, The Caring Link, Inc., Sleep in Heavenly Peace – Limestone County, The Riley Behavioral & Education Center, The Schools Foundation Inc., the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation, the United Way of Madison County, Women’s Foundation of Alabama, and The ELM Foundation.
