Katie Taylor named ‘Employee of the Month’ for March 2026 at Madison Hospital

MADISON – Madison Hospital has honored Katie Taylor as “Employee of the Month” for March 2026.

A Registered Nurse, Taylor works in the Acute Surgical Care Unit, which is on the hospital’s fourth floor. This type of unit provides general care for patients who are not critically ill but still require ongoing medical attention. This unit is designed for patients recovering from surgery or those with stable acute illnesses. Patients receive skilled nursing care until they are stable enough for discharge or transfer.

The hospital management accepts nominations for Employee of the Month anonymously from the facility’s workforce. The following statements were included in Taylor’s nomination: “This employee always comes to work with a positive attitude, and all of her patients love her. This employee always finds some way to connect with patients on a personal level and make their experience a positive one.”

The nomination continued by stating, “This employee is also eager to learn in all situations and very open to feedback. This employee exemplifies the culture at Madison and is a perfect candidate for (this honor). We would like to present the February Employee of the Month award to Katie Taylor.”

“Katie’s impact on both her patients and her teammates in our Acute Medical/Surgical Care Unit is truly inspiring,” Mary Lynne Wright, Madison Hospital President, said. “When her colleagues nominated her for recognition, they highlighted the heart and dedication she brings to every shift.”

“Katie, thank you for your commitment to providing compassionate care and for being a shining example of the ‘More andMore’ difference here at Madison Hospital!” Wright said.

Katie started her association with Madison Hospital in 2023 as a nurse apprentice in the program affiliated with Calhoun Community College. She has worked as a Registered Nurse at the hospital since 2025.

Taylor reports to her Director, LaShaina Woodruff, at the hospital. “Katie is the sweetest and friendliest person you will ever meet. She is levelheaded and calm,” Woodruff said.

Woodruff said Taylor is always positive and always smiling. “Katie just brings joy to anyone who is around her. We are blessed to have her here at Madison.”

Along with her demanding job, Taylor has been extra busy lately but in a good way – she has been planning and preparing for her wedding. Her fiancee is Tyler Atkins.
