Relax to Calypso Vision at Sounds of Summer concert at Home Place Park on July 23
MADISON – A local favorite, Calypso Vision will bring its toes-in-the-sand vibe to the “Sounds of Summer” concert series.
This music will fill the stage at Home Place Park on July 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. The concert is free.
Madison Arts Alliance coordinates the concerts. “This popular community event brings people together to enjoy live performances by talented local bands in a relaxed outdoor setting,” Alliance President Rosalie Holcombe said.
Sounds of Summer features a different local band that performs crowd favorites across rock, pop, funk and beach music styles. Food trucks and vendors will be on site to give the perfect setting for relaxation and enjoying a summer evening under the stars.
Many residents are familiar with the sounds of Calypso Vision. The band members have performed locally for 10plus years with their style that’s sure to please. The band has played at gigs at Straight to Ale, Trident Marina on Smith Lake, The Open Bottle and City Lights & Stars in Huntsville, to name a few.
Calypso Vision sets a mood with a laidback beachfront spirit and a lagniappe of tropical tunes that pay homage to the late Jimmy Buffett. The beach party will be ready to go with plenty of fun and surprises.
Calypso Vision’s full band has a huge sound, rooted in a love for the music dear to many hearts, and that song that you just won’t hear anywhere else. The ‘calypso vision’ is simple and easy to see, as it focuses on great music offering an escape from the mundane, according to the band.
“Whether on a mountain, in a backyard, on a boat or at the pub around the corner, Calypso Vision brings a beach party ready to go, with all the spontaneous fun to turn an evening anywhere into a memorable trip down-island,” according to the band’s website.
