Bob Jones pulls out a win against Spain Park

Bob Jones High School pulled another win out of its pocket as they beat the Spain Park Jaguars 28-13 Friday night.

The game opened up with Bob Jones’s defense first stop of the night, which included a sack on Spain Park quarterback Nick Mullens. As the Jaguars were punting the ball, the punt was blocked giving the Patriots’ offense the ball.

They took advantage of that by scoring an 8-yard touchdown by Jay Rodgers.

But, the Patriots weren’t done yet as there defense went out and caused another third and out, making Spain Park punt the ball. Their offense got back to work as quarterback, Jeffrey Moss, completed a shovel pass to Kevin Wright for a gain of 30 yards.  Bob Jones couldn’t find its rhythm as they were called for pass interference and holding.

The second quarter was a defensive quarter as neither offense was able to drive down the field and score. Both teams played tough.

Bob Jones received the ball back after halftime, but the offense was still thinking about that last quarter as they are stopped their opening drive. Spain Park had other plans. They marched down the field only to get a field goal after allowing a crucial sack to Jordan Best on third and five leaving the  score 14-3.

The Fourth quarter started with Spain Park moving down the field, but was stopped at the goal line making them kick a field goal making the score 14-13 Bob Jones.

With a fumble recovery, the patriots are able to build on their lead making it 21-13.

Spain Park tried to get its offense moving again with Mullens throwing an interception to Markco Douglas.

The final score was 28-13.
