Heat record broken today in Huntsville

Huntsville has broken a heat record set in 1914.

Ninety-eight years ago was the hottest June 30 on record, until today.

The record was smashed today as the mercury climbed to a steamy 104.9 degrees.  Triple digit temperatures are expected again on Sunday and Monday with Sunday’s record high also looking like it could fall as well.

The temperatures will take a small dip next week as they will be in the low to mid 90s, but with the return of small rain chances the humidity levels will rise and and although the temperatures will not be in the triple digits, the heat index reading will be back high once again.
