Parrots of the Caribbean set for Saturday

MADISON – On Saturday, guests can party down as the islanders do while helping charitable causes in town and in other countries by attending Parrots of the Caribbean at Insanity Complex, 100 Skate Park Drive in Madison.

The party starts at 6 p.m. and partygoers can sway in the island breeze until 11 p.m. For 15 years, Rotary Club of Madison has sponsored the event as its annual fundraiser.

Old Black Bear will fire up the grills once again to sell delicious Caribbean-style fare to satisfy appetites. Soft drinks, domestic and craft beers, wine and spirits also will be sold.

“Our raffle baskets total more $6,000 in value,” Rotary Publicist Mike Keenan said.

“A few of the raffle items include four one-day Park Hopper passes to Disney World, a Kate Spade purse, his & hers Rayban sunglasses, $500 flight voucher from Huntsville Airport Authority, tickets to Atlanta Braves baseball and the Instant Wine Cellar with approximately 60 bottles of wine,” he said.

For entertainment, Calypso Vision promises “to bring folks a relaxed spirit of good ol’ rock and roll and a chance to dream of good times and riches and boats, bars and beaches.” (Facebook/Calypso Vision)

Beachcombers who currently play with Calypso Vision include Andrew Tygielski, Sonny Veque, Eddie Black, Chris Radzinski, Tania Yee, Sam Benefield, David Lavalee and assistance from Mike Zieman.

JUICE formed more than 10 years ago and has morphed into one solid groove machine, according to its promotions. “We have shared the stage with such artists as Kool & the Gang, Boyz II Men, Hootie and the Blowfish, Cowboy Mouth and many others. Our mission is to make you shake your booty and to have fun while doing it.”

JUICE members are Bobby Taylor – vocals, drums; Hunter Copeland – vocals, bass, guitar; Danny Beeler – vocals, keyboards; Shelly Williams – sax; Kevin Bennett – sound engineer. (Facebook/JUICE)

Advance tickets are $20 but will cost $25 at the event. To buy tickets, visit parrots.madisonalrotary.org.

All guests must be 21 years old minimum with valid identification. Coolers, pets and outside food and drink are not permitted. This event will be held rain or shine.
