UPDATE: ADPH confirms second COVID-19 death in Madison County

The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) reports that a second person has died in Madison County due to the coronavirus. Details about that death are not known.

Fifty-three deaths have been reported in the state due to the virus, with 39 being confirmed by the ADPH.

Statewide, there are a total of 2008 cases of COVID-19 in Alabama, according to the ADPH as of Tuesday, April 7, at 9:20 a.m. The department also reports there has been 272 total hospitalizations due to COVID-19 since March 13.

Madison County has 141 cases of COVID-19, and Limestone County has 33.

There are currently 368,533 cases of COVDI-19 nationwide, and 19,972 recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University.
