Work on I-565 ramp scheduled

Motorists will see increased activity Thursday morning on Interstate 565 in Madison as contractors pour concrete for the foundation for the future westbound off-ramp at Exit 10 near Toyota Field and Town Madison.

Contractors excavated a huge hole in the median and tied steel bars to reinforce the concrete bridge footing that will be poured Thursday morning.

More 40 truckloads of concrete are scheduled to be poured, surrounding the rebar and locking into the natural rock, according to engineering firm AECOM. The firm is overseeing construction for this project funded by the city of Madison.

Motorists are asked to reduce speed and remain alert for trucks entering or exiting the median of I-565.
