Madison Blue Jets 8U team captures state title, invite to 2025 All-Star World Series
MADISON – Things looked bleak at the outset when the Madison Baseball Association 8U Blue USSSA All-Star State Championship tournament began in Oxford last month.
Blue started 0-2, but the team’s fortunes would soon change, and their trip ended with a 5A State Championship trophy and an invite to the USSSA Rec All-Star World Series in Baton Rouge.
“Lost the first two games in pool play against two extremely tough teams,’’ Madison head coach Jeffery Bolden said. “But instead of backing down, these boys rallied together, refocused, and went on an incredible run—winning four straight games to bring home the 5A State Championship.’’
The bats came alive in bracket play, led by standout performances from Beau, Thatcher, Bennett, and Jeremiah, who just missed a home run.
“The energy carried into the field as well—our outfield was tested often, but Hiroto, Jeremiah, Camden, and Trae stepped up in a big way,’’ Bolden said. “Whether it was making clutch catches or holding baserunners to singles on deep hits, their effort and execution were key to the team’s success.
“Every single player contributed— whether it was routine outs, base hits, clutch RBIs, or smart baserunning, everyone showed up, played their part, and helped pull out the win. This was a true team effort from start to finish.’’
The squad went 3-4 overall at the World Series, including 2-2 in bracket play.
“This group showed heart, grit, and teamwork,’’ Bolden said.
