Harvest volunteers return from Belize mission trip

HARVEST – A dedicated team of eight volunteers from Refuge Church in Harvest recently returned from an inspiring week of service in Corozal, Belize, where they served Oct. 5-10. Returning to a community close to their hearts, the church rejoined their long-standing partners Pastor Paul Williams and the welcoming congregation at Lighthouse Baptist Church to serve side-by-side and deepen connections in the local neighborhood.

Throughout the week, the team poured their hearts into serving local families and youth. Togeth- er, they led energetic Vacation Bible School activities and youth nights, spent meaningful time with students in local schools, hosted hot meals through community feeding programs, and visited residents at a local senior home to share warm encouragement. The volunteers also walked door-to-door through the community to hand-deliver “blessing bags” filled with essential food and household supplies directly to local families.

After an unforgettable week of ministry, the group wrapped up their time together by immersing themselves in Belize’s vibrant culture and natural splendor, spending their final days exploring the island of Caye Caulker and snorkeling along the vibrant Belize Barrier Reef Marine Reserve.

The success of the mission trip was driven by dedicated leadership from Refuge Church. Group Leader Ben Cordray spearheaded the extensive trip planning and guided the team faithfully on the ground in Belize, while Senior Pastor Jason Parks oversaw the overall initiative, supporting and guiding the team every step of the way.

This experience was made possible by Thirst Missions, a ministry specializing in high-quality, high-impact mission trips that connect teams with real needs. Thirst Missions handles every logistical detail—from lodging and transportation to ministry partnerships—allowing teams to focus entirely on building relationships and serving others in the name of Christ.
