Mustangs beat down Brindlee Mountain

The Madison Academy boys’ and girls’ basketball teams made easy work of the Brindlee Mountain Lions Tuesday night, with the boys winning 55-35 and the girls winning 57-12.

In the boys’ game, Spencer Palmer paced the Mustangs with 26 points, as Madison Academy opened a six-point lead in the first quarter and extended it to 15 at the start of the fourth quarter.

Following Palmer was Brad Ratliff and Colby Crossfield with nine points apiece and Kerryon Johnson with eight points.

For Brindlee Mountain, Jimmy Conley had a team-high 16 points, followed by Hunter Gant with six points.

Madison Academy opened up a 28-2 lead Tuesday and cruised to victory over Brindlee Mountain, 57-12.

Madison Academy led 44-4 at the half, and the Mustangs shut down the offense in the second half to preserve the win.

The Mustangs had two players in double digits, led by Nyla Johnson with 14 points and five steals and Keke Fletcher with 10 points.

Lydia McGee was next for the Mustangs with eight points, while Amara Ayers and Alex Haas each had six points.

For Brindlee Mountain, Miranda Daniels had four points, Jessica Green and Jordan Blankinship each had three and Kayla Tayman had two.
