BJHS routes Ramsay in tourney opener

Three Lady Patriots scored in double-digits Tuesday to lead Bob Jones to a dominating victory over Ramsay, 62-31, in the opening round of the Times Ladies Classic at Bob Jones.
The Patriots led by as much as 24 in the first half, and Joidon Jennings nearly that lead back with a buzzer-beater to send Bob Jones into the locker room with a 35-12 lead.
”We’re trying to find our identity,” Bob Jones head coach Tim Miller said. “Our team concept is defense, and we’re just trying to get better as a unit.”
Senior Rikeyah McKinnon led the Patriots with 19 points, followed by Tierra Jones with a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds.
“She’s getting more and more confident,” Miller said of McKinnon. “She’s been through some wars in the past.”
Jasmine Jones was next for the Patriots with 10 points and eight rebounds, followed by Katie Colson with seven points and nine rebounds.
For Ramsay, Brooks Robinson had a team-high 12 points, followed by Antesha Parks with nine points.
Bob Jones will take on the winner of the Lincoln County and Erwin at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
