Citizens get opportunity to give input at Growth Plan meeting

Residents of Madison will have the opportunity to voice their opinions and give input on the future of Madison.

The plan is an effort, undertaken by Madison, to improve the way the city grows and develops.

The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Hogan Family YMCA, located off Hughes Road.

“It’s going to be an interactive discussion on key development areas,” said Amy Furfori, planning director for the city of Madison.

Those six development areas in the city are County Line Road, Downtown and Midtown,Highway, 72 Corridor, Old Madison Pike, South Madison I-565 Corridor and the Western Growth area.

Furfori said the meeting will be broken down into small groups, where there will be a discussion of different concepts of those areas.

“It’s a way to have people get their ideas out there and discuss them,” Fufori said.

The meeting is open to the public.
