Charles Phillip Wallace; Sept. 9, 2012

Charles Phillip Wallace, 75, of Madison, passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012.

He is survived by his wife Dianne Miller Wallace, of Madison, children: Vickie Morris; Patti and husband Tommy Scivally; Alisa Warren; Dana Pirtle and Christopher Pirtle, brothers: Douglas and wife Thelma Wallace, Randall and wife Mary; sister: Sondra Thompson; six grandchildren: Brad Johnson, Susan Jones, Ryan Morring, Dee Scivally, Ashley Scivally and Christina McCullough; and twelve great grandchildren.

Charles was a member of Madison Church of Christ. He served with the Madison Fire & Rescue Department for 35 years and was the first full-time employee of the department, while serving the last 30 years as fire chief, retiring in 1999. He was also a past President of Madison AARP Chapter and Sunnywheels RV Club.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 5 to 8 p.m., at Madison Church of Christ. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 10 a.m. at Madison Church of Christ, with Dr. E.R. Brannan officiating. The Madison Fire Department gave all honors to Wallace, including crossed aerial ladders with a draped flag over Mill Road.

Contributions may be made to the Safety and Fire Education Fund, M.S. Society Research or your favorite charity.
