Mr. Bradley joined the Army and was stationed at Ft. Dix, N.J. working at Tilton General Hospital during WW II. He and his wife, Roberta, opened their home and kept many foster children over a 10 year period during the 1960’s and 1970’s.

Billy attended Auburn University and was a big Auburn Athletics fan. He was an AVID fisherman, and loved to travel the United States touring areas in his camper. He was a retired Rural Letter Carrier, and drove tour buses for the Space Center for 10 years in retirement. He was an active member of the Mayfair Church of Christ for many years, and then a founding member of the Twickenham Church of Christ where he attended thru his later years. He wrote country songs and played guitar in a band twice weekly at the Huntsville Senior Center.

He started Monrovia Baseball League, coaching both Little League and Babe Ruth Teams, spending countless hours with the youth in the Monrovia Community. He was a baseball coach for 54 years. He also helped at Discovery Middle School and Bob Jones High School baseball teams while his grandson, Chris played there. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping coach his grandson Chris from T-ball through high school ball and watching him sign a baseball scholarship with his beloved Auburn University, and coming to Auburn on weekends to watch him play. Then, witnessing Chris get drafted by and play in the Texas Rangers Organization.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation in Mr. Bradley’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, The American Heart Association, or The American Cancer Society.
