John Perley Caulkins; March 11, 2013

John Perley Caulkins, 84, of Madison, passed away Monday, March 11.

Mr. Caulkins retired from the Army after 20 years of service, and also retired from Civil Service. He owned Astro T.V. Repair, volunteered at the Botanical Gardens and was an avid fisherman. He accomplished his dream by receiving his pilot’s license and was a co-owner of Rocket Aviation.

Mr. Caulkins was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Caulkins and son, Paul Caulkins.

Survivors include daughters, Marie Nonet Wolfe (R. Wayne) of Madison and Brigitte Nonet Komara of Madison; grandchildren, Joshua Wayne Wolfe, Aaron G. Komara, Caytlin M. Komara, Stephane Nonet and Christelle Nonet; great-grandson, Wade Leo Komara; sister, Sylvia Lorhan of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 980 Hughes Road, Madison, AL, 35758. The funeral service was immediately followed at the church with the Rev. Alan Weatherly officiating. Burial was in Faith Memorial Park, 8100 Madison Blvd., Madison, AL 35758. (www.laughlinservice.com)
