James R. Tucker; April 24, 2013

James R. Tucker, 86, was reunited with his beloved Nell in the early evening hours of April 24, 2013.

Mr. Tucker dedicated his life to the education of our youth and proudly served as a principal for over 34 years, the final 18 of which he spent at Brewer High School. He was a dynamic man and those that were lucky enough to know him understand that he could never be fully described in this brief paragraph, but those that did not should know that he faithfully served his God, his country, and his family. His family will miss his strength, honor, and indefatigable sense of humor, but they cherish the thousands of precious memories he has left for them.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Nell Ree Tucker.

He is survived by daughter, Elizabeth Faye Campbell and her husband, Scott; son, James Roy Tucker and his wife, Shaye; granddaughter, Shanna Campbell Brodbeck her husband, Christian; and great-granddaughter, Olivia.

He also shared his love with their adopted family, K.C. Thomaskutty and his wife, Mary and their children, Champ, Christy, and Christopher and his wife, Hilary; and their grandchildren, Ella, Kieran, and Caleb. Additionally, he is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and his constant companion, Lady.

Visitation was Friday, April 26, 2013, from 5 to 7p.m. at Hillwood Baptist Church, 300 Kohler Road S.E., Huntsville. Mr. Tucker laid in state one hour prior to the service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, at the church. Dr. Charles Freeman officiated. Burial followed in Hampton Cove Cemetery; Hampton Cove Funeral Home directed.
