Vernon Arthur Schroeder of Huntsville passed away Tuesday, May 7, surrounded by a loving family at his bedside.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 57 years; three daughters, Melanie Baldwin and Angie Motes of Huntsville, and Karla Stogner of Harvest; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Vernon served in the United States Air Force and then worked at Redstone Arsenal as a radar instructor for 20 years. Along with his civil service career, he stayed busy as the owner and operator of a local car dealership. Vernon was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church for the past 50 years.

Visitation will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on May 11, from 11 a.m. to noon with funeral service following visitation at Grace Lutheran.
