MADISON – State Rep. Mac McCutcheon presented $10,000 to James Clemens High School on Aug. 7.

The money originated with annual, in-lieu-of-tax payments by the Tennessee Valley Authority. The TVA payments are based on revenues from electricity sales and value of its property and equipment.

James Clemens Principal Dr. Brian Clayton and Madison City Schools Superintendent Dr. Dee Fowler accepted the donation from McCutcheon on campus at James Clemens, which opened in 2012.

“There are no strings. I know there are a lot of expenses opening a new school from band to books and pencils,” McCutcheon said.

“We appreciate the generous support of Rep. McCutcheon. He has always been a very strong supporter of education in Madison, and we sincerely thank him for his help,” Fowler said.

McCutcheon’s district includes most residents in the City of Madison.
