U.S. Veteran

Joseph William Hackett, 68, of Madison passed away Thursday at a local hospital. Joseph was a native of Frankfort, IN and a resident of Madison County for the past 19 years. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a retired metallurgical engineer, a life member of the of ASM International, a Benefactor Member of the NRA and a Member to the Blue and Gray Rifle and Pistol Club. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years: Lynda L. Johnston and two brothers: David Kramer Hackett of Oak Ridge, TN and Patrick Steven Hackett of Knoxville, TN.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, AL. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box 300 · 1301 N. Main Street · Chamberlain, SD 57325
