Lisa DeVault Hanson
June 2, 1960 – November 21, 2013

Lisa DeVault Hanson, 53, of Madison, passed away peacefully and comfortably in her own home early on the morning of November 21, after a long and courageous battle with diabetes. Despite her many health struggles, Lisa lived an active life of joy and love, surrounded by her many friends and family. In the mid 1980’s, she worked at Intergraph Corp. where she met her husband Jim, and later, shortly after the birth of their son Jimmy, Lisa became a full-time mother and homemaker.

Lisa had a wonderful artistic talent, and especially enjoyed crafting greeting cards and attending stamping classes and seminars. She loved and was devoted to her wonderful rescued dogs, Cody, Tiger and Pepper.

Survivors include husband, James Hanson; son, Jimmy Hanson (Brittany); mother, Jeannette DeVault; brother, Bruce DeVault (Gracie); sister, Sharon Massey (Steve); brother, Michael DeVault (Linda); and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Visitation was held Saturday at Asbury United Methodist Church. The memorial service immediately followed at the church with Dr. Alan Weatherly and John Ryberg officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alabama Kidney Foundation, 2012 University Blvd., Suite 164, P. O. Box 12505, Birmingham, AL 35202.
