Robert H. Purser, Sr. October 17, 1921 – April 9, 2014

Robert Purser Sr., passed away Wednesday. He married Inez Cox in November, 1943 and had been a resident of Madison County since 1963. Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Ann Purser. Survivors include his wife, Inez; son, Robert Jr. (Carolyn); grandchildren, Carmen Patterson (Derek) and Shane Purser (Karen); four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Robert was a faithful and longtime member of University Baptist Church, an American Red Cross volunteer at Huntsville Hospital for over 15 years, and a military veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force in WWII. Robert retired from the Department of Defense at Redstone Arsenal where he worked civil service in the TMDA organization. Visitation was from 12 noon to 1 pm Friday, April 11 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, immediately followed by the funeral service. Burial was in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
