NORMAL – Alabama A&M University has scheduled a full slate of classes and workshops for summer 2014.

“The ABCs of Supervising Others” is a three-hour workshop designed to help participants overcome many of the supervisory problems they will encounter as a boss, whether team leader, project manager or unit coordinator.

Participants will develop techniques to confirm clear communications and to deal with employee issues, such as hostility, complaints and laziness.

The target audience includes first-time and seasoned supervisors, along with employees in a position of influence. This workshop will meet on July 30 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Fee for “The ABCs of Supervising Others” is $90.

Students in grades 8-12 are eligible for “Back-to-School with High School Math Enrichment Classes” on July 29. The workshop will help with math classes ranging from algebra 1 through pre-calculus algebra.

Session One from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. will cover graphic linear and nonlinear equations and inequalities. Session Two from 3 to 5 p.m. will discuss simplifying and factoring algebraic expressions. Cost is $40 per session or $75 for both sessions.

“iPad Basics for New Users” will be held July 16 from 10 a.m. to noon. This two-hour class will introduce many features of the iPad, allowing new users to receive the optimum benefits from the technology. Participants will learn to download, update and manage apps, along with handling the processing and storage of photos and videos.

Cost for the iPad session is $40.

For more information on any of these sessions, call 256-372-5753 or email to odees@aamu.edu.
