Pedestrian struck and killed on Madison Boulevard identified

The Madison Police Department has released more information about March 16’s morning accident involving a pedestrian on Madison Boulevard.

According to a release, 69-year-old Linda Luster was attempting to cross the major east-west road at around 10 a.m. Monday. After she was struck, the release stated, a citizen stopped to administer first aid to Luster.

Luster was immediately transported to Huntsville Hospital, where she died a few hours after the incident.

“We offer our sympathies and condolences to Mrs. Luster’s family,” the press release stated.

The incident happened near the intersection of Madison Boulevard and Lime Quarry Road, which is situated just east of Madison Boulevard’s intersection with Sullivan Street/Wall-Triana Highway and just west of Lanier Road.

The police force is continuing its investigation of the incident.
