HUNTSVILLE – To launch Child Abuse Prevention Month, the National Children’s Advocacy Center is calling for The Flash, Ninja Turtles and all other fantastic friends for the Superheroes Fun Run on April 11.

On-site registration will begin at 7 a.m. for the 5K/1M and fun run at the center’s campus, 210 Pratt Ave. in Huntsville. The “Flash” one-mile USATF-certified race (USA Track & Field) will start at 7:30 a.m., followed by the 5K Race at 8 a.m. and Fun Run/Walk at 9 a.m.

From 8 to 11 a.m., a family block party will include food, inflatables, crafts, games and more. The block party is free and open to the public. Costumes are encouraged.

This family event is open to all ages. The one-mile run is one of only two timed and certified one-mile races in North Alabama.

Morris, King & Hodge P.C. is sponsoring the run.

The National Children’s Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing abuse and counseling for abused children in the area and training for other professionals in their own communities nationwide.

Fees are $25 for the 5K and $15 for the one-mile run and fun run.
