T.W. Frierson Contractor, Inc. and Design Constructors, Inc., both headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., have been selected as the design/build team to design and construct the new $48 million Polaris Industries Inc. manufacturing plant in the Huntsville, Ala., area.

“T. W. Frierson was selected based in part on its capability to respond to the fast schedule, self-performance and the speed of a pre-engineered solution,” David Bockian, T. W. Frierson senior vice president, said in a press release. “Our firm’s relationship with architectural firm, Design Constructors, highlighted our ability to achieve the eight-month turn-around needed to expedite the job.”

The 775,000-square-foot production facility is the first for Polaris in the southern half of the United States, and will initially be producing the Ranger side-by-side utility vehicles. The plant will support several core processes, including vehicle assembly, chassis and body painting, welding, fabrication and injection molding.

The facility under construction is located off of Greenbrier Road in Huntsville-annexed Limestone County.

“The ideals that have driven the design of the facility quickly showed the T. W. Frierson team that both companies share a common culture, and that Polaris would fit very well as a long-term partner for the organization,” Bookian continued in the press release.

Over the years since its founding in 1954, Polaris Industries has grown and adapted to be a world leader in the design and production of all-terrain, sport utility and recreational vehicles. The company also now owns Indian Motorcycle®, and Victory Motorcycle® brands, as well as Brammo Inc., an electric vehicle company.

“We appreciate the opportunity to work with this fantastic organization, and are happy to be part of their first experience in the southern United States,” Bookian stated in the release.
